1. Measure the area to find how out many square feet of wall you will be painting. (Ex. If you have a 10' X 10' room with 8' ceilings, you will be painting 320 square feet.)
2. You may also measure doors and windows and subtract the square feet of those areas. It is recommended that you do not take out these measurements, as it will provide extra paint for touchups in the future.
3. The average spread rate for a gallon of interior wall paint is roughly 400 square feet per gallon. If you are painting a textured wall, ceiling or porous surface, the coverage will be less than 400 square feet per gallon.
